This Robert Presley ICI foundation specialty course provides investigators with hands-on training in the multi- faceted area of Human Trafficking and related undercover operations. This three-day (24-hour) course provides a “how to” on teaching policing approaches that emphasize
respect, listening, neutrality, and trust (Procedural Justice) while also addressing the common
implicit biases that can be barriers to these approaches (Implicit Bias). Law enforcement can
improve trust and relationships between law enforcement agencies and their communities by using
these principles to evaluate their policies, procedures and training within their departments. The
course covers instruction on how law enforcement agencies can prepare to teach the one-day (8-hour) course “Principled Policing: Procedural Justice & Implicit Bias” with a focus on ensuring an
effective, high quality training.

ROBBERY INVESTIGATION (ICI)
THIS IS A FOUNDATION SPECIALITY COURSE OF ROBERT PRESLEY INSTITUTE OF CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS (ICI). ROBBERIES ARE REPORTED TO THE POLICE AT THE RATE OF ONE PER MINUTE IN THE UNITED STATES (UCR, 2006) AND ACCOUNT FOR LOSSES AT NEARLY $539 MILLION. RESIDENTIAL HOME INVASION ROBBERY LOSSES AVERAGE $1,500, WHILE THE AVERAGE DOLLAR LOSS FROM COMMERCIAL ROBBERY IS APPROXIMATELY $4,000 (DOJ, 2006). THIS COURSE IS DESIGNED FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT INVESTIGATORS TO ASSIST IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS NEEDED TO CONDUCT THOROUGH AND CONCISE ROBBERY INVESTIGATIONS.
