21115	DRIVER TRAINING UPDATE The SPD Training Division conducted an analysis of Police Department at-fault collision trends for the last five years. Consequently, SPD learned that, in the previous 5 years, officers with less than 5 years of service were responsible for increasingly 50 to 80 percent of the at-fault collisions that they were involved in. The three main causes for these collisions were backing, rear-end, and sideswipe (940s). Overwhelmingly, distracted driving/inattention contributed to the primary collision factor.
