This 8 hour course provides a working detective (or person working in an investigative role) the skills needed to assess facial images to determine if the quality of the image is viable for a search in a facial recognition system. This course teaches students how to properly conduct facial recognition searches, review candidate lists, and the skills to conduct facial comparisons. This course was created based on framework from the Facial Identification Scientific Working Group's "Minimum Training Criteria When Using Facial Recognition Systems" and has been taught under these standards since January 1, 2017.
