This course is designed to teach the student fundamentals of skid analysis and the proper way to identify and document them. This course will follow up on basic math skills which will also include the proper use of formulas used to calculate minimum speeds from tire friction marks. This course will also discuss identification of tire friction marks, proper manner in determining drag factors, Newton's Three Laws of Motion, time and distance analysis and how they pertain to minimum speed calculations.

Basic math formulas and Newton's Three Laws of Motion, as related to collision investigation, will be introduced and integrated into practical exercises. An overview of various officer safety considerations and courtroom testimony is also included in the course material.
