BATON INSTRUCTOR UPDATE 
This course is designed to provide law enforcement baton and impact weapons instructors with an instructor refresher to expand their knowledge and technical skills for teaching baton tactics within the law enforcement agency, police academy and college. The course covers the use of the straight baton, expandable straight baton, riot baton, and side-handle baton. The course thoroughly reviews use of force, principles and concepts, course development and maintenance, instructional and coaching techniques and methods, record keeping and testing, realistic and scenario based training and the use of specialized impact weapons training equipment.
This course provides updated legislative content of Penal Code Section 835a.

This course is designed to teach law enforcement students to become a Baton and Impact Weapons instructor. The course includes straight baton, expandable straight baton, riot baton and optional side-handle baton, . The course thoroughly covers principles and concepts of baton tactics, use of force in relation to baton tactics, de-escalation of force, baton coaching, as well as principles and concepts of course development, planning, instructional techniques and methods, record keeping, testing and lesson plan development.
This course provides updated legislative content of Penal Code Section 835a.
The 32-hour Modified Baton Instructors Course will be offered periodically and is designed for students who recently and successfully completed our 80-hour Arrest and Control or Defensive Tactics Instructor course.

This course is designed to update and build on the skills and knowledge of current Arrest and Control Instructors in the areas of searching and handcuffing, finding weapons and dealing with resistance during the search and arrest, weapon retention, weapon take away and weaponless defense. The course includes updated and dynamic, interactive training that develops optimum response that will reduce officer injuries and departmental liability. The course covers a review and update of principles and concepts of arrest and control. Builds on the participant's skills in instructional techniques and methods, program development and maintenance, record keeping, liability and testing.
